Made it to Orlando
Sitting on the Mears bus on mty way to the Dolphin. Huge electrical storm
going on! The bus hasn't reached the rain yet but we're headed that way.
The flight from Phoenix was uneventful after an hour wait while they
reprogrammed the flight navigation computer.
Had two vary nice row mates and the movie was Mirical which I hadn't seen
before.
Leaving on a jet plane
Greetings from SAN via Blackberry. Sitting waiting for boarding time on my
way to Orlando, FLA.
So far the only thing worth noting is that I had my boarding pass checked 3
times on the way through security. Seemed a little excessive but better
safe than sorry!
Itinerary
AW 204 to Phoenix
AW 569 to Orlando

Wired News: Blogs Welcome at Dems' Convention
Interesting Wired article about bloggers trying to get press credentials to the political conventions this summer.
'I get a sense they are making it up as they go along,' Marine said. 'It's a new phenomenon. I'm sure they are just as confused as everybody is.'

RSS coming back to Blogger?
Blogger Blog, the Blog for Bloggers RSS coming back to Blogger? mentions that RSS may be coming back to blogger. There is a c|Net article referenced as well. This is a good thing. Google adoped Atom and I think they should just stay out of the standards war and let people decide what is best. There are ways, as I have done using 2rss.com, of making your Atom feeds available via RSS but that is kind of a kludge. I think that eventually we'll have an even better form that mixes the best of the two. Until then, Blogger and Google, stay out of the fray and let us serve up both.

Wired News: Windows XP Bedevils Wi-Fi Users
Interesting Wired article about Wi-Fi and Windows XP. Microsoft, of course, says it isn't XP it is the hardward but others disagree. There is a quick fix where you bounce one of your services but that could be a pain if you have to do it a lot.

Microsoft's Free IMF
I came across this blog entry about Microsoft's free, new
Intelligent Message Filter add-on for Exchange Server.
eWeek's David Coursey. IMF was released last week at TechEd.
We're not an Exchange shop where I work so I have no way to verify his numbers but I don't like them. IMF is free so I suppose that is a nice first start but this looks like one of those thing where you play with threshold numbers until you get the right balance of spam blocking and false positives.
My advice, get a 3rd party product. Someone who has time to deal with spam instead of spending all of yours. Personally, we use Brightmail and haven't had any trouble with it and 0 false positives.
